There seems to be a lot of debate on whether or not coconut oil is good or bad for you. One thing is for sure though, it is really delicious and has many uses both in cooking and in maintaining the health of your overall body.
Scientists once gave organic coconut oil a bad reputation for being completely unhealthy for consumption, but new testing is finding different information. What you may not know however is that coconut oil is much healthier than you’ve been led to believe because it does not have all bad kinds of fat in it.
But having certain kinds of fats in your diet is absolutely necessary for optimum health. If you have the good kind of cholesterol in your diet, then the bad kind of cholesterol is kept to a minimum. Since good cholesterol comes from foods such as coconut oil it is fairly safe to say that this delicate oil has a place in our health regime.
What about the taste of coconut oil though? Is it sweet or sour, or what can you liken it to?. Although it may not taste exactly like a raw coconut it does have a sweet taste that lends itself well to confection cooking and baking.
So the next time you are at the local grocery store and are looking for the perfect compliment to your cooking, look no further than the coconut oil aisle where you can find that sweet things do come in small packages.
