Depending on who you ask at any given time, the answer to whether or not coconut oil is good to consume seems to have a different response. No matter what though, it seems to be the case that if you are using it for cooking you are in for one delicious treat.
Some people believe that extra virgin coconut oil is not healthy for us because it is believed to have a lot of saturated fat in it. What you may not know however is that coconut oil is much healthier than you’ve been led to believe because it does not have all bad kinds of fat in it.
But don’t think that all fat is necessarily bad. We need saturated fats in our diet, and they can actually be good for us in many cases. You wouldn’t have any way to regulate your bad cholesterol in your body if it were not for the good cholesterol. And when this good type of fat comes from foods like coconut oil, that means that we really don’t need to fear it as much.
If you really want a great reason to try cooking with coconut oil though, look no further than its taste. There is good news if you like baking or cooking sweet stuff. Coconut oil lends itself to making certain types of foods much sweeter and more delicious when used properly.
When you are replacing that unhealthy trans-fatty cooking oil you are used to in the future, keep in mind that there are healthier sources of oil that are quite good for your body and your taste buds.
