Do you like coconut oil whether it’s to eat or to use on your skin? There seems to be a lot of debate on whether or not coconut oil is good or bad for you these days. But if you are a fan of coconut oil you will agree that regardless of how you use it, it is super tasty and even works to maintain healthy hair.
Originally science gave the virgin cooking oil a bad rap because it had too much saturated fat in it. Perhaps the chemical process of hydrogenation is what gave this sweet oil its bad name among people who believe that saturated fat in your diet is all bad.
But don’t think that all fat is necessarily bad. We need saturated fats in our diet, and they can actually be good for us in many cases. If you have the good kind of cholesterol in your diet, then the bad kind of cholesterol is kept to a minimum. Since good cholesterol comes from foods such as coconut oil it is fairly safe to say that this delicate oil has a place in our health regime.
If you really want a great reason to try cooking with coconut oil though, look no further than its taste. Although it may not taste exactly like a raw coconut it does have a sweet taste that lends itself well to confection cooking and baking.
When you are on your next trip to buy cooking oil for your needs you may just want to give some coconut oil a try so you can see for yourself if it would be a good fit in your kitchen.
This is for my peeps!
