Anxiety is a disorder that affects millions of people worldwide. It is characterized by physical symptoms such as: feelings of doom, sweating, heart palpitations, muscle twitches and more.
There are a lot of prescription drugs that can be used to cure anxiety attacks but some can be very addicting. When the anxious person uses these medications too often they can develop physical dependence from taking the medication.
There are also alternatives and safer methods that can be used to stop anxiety in patients. Herbal remedies have been used for centuries to treat anxiety attacks effectively and safely for thousands of people. The idea behind these remedies is that they are all-natural and do not come from the local pharmacy.
In addition to this, the risk for addiction is not present like in pharmacy treatments so they are generally considered safe to use.
There are still other methods used to treat anxiety such as cognitive behavioral therapy or CBT. This form of therapy helps the patient understand where their anxiety comes from and why it is happening. When there is a clear path to knowing what is causing anxiety in a persons life, is is much easier to treat it.
Behavioral therapy is a long-term plan for battling anxiety and panic disorder. Once the anxious person is equipped with the tools necessary to stop the panic attacks and anxiety they have a much better chance in their life to eliminate it from their routine and live a happier existence.It is important for anxious individuals to know that anxiety is not going to harm you. It may be unpleasant, but the physical symptoms are not going to cause you any real harm.

Sufism in Pakistan Presentation
Here's my notes from my presentation, including the two url's for the youtube videos I showed.
Sufism and Pakistan
Sufism is a controversial sect of Islam.
- In Islam, it is seen as sinful to have representations of God
- Chishti Sufi Order - prominent in India and Pakistan uses music as a part of ritual, something which is strictly prohibited in Shi’i and Sunni Islam
Qawwali music
- Singing mystical or divine poetry usually in the local dialect (Punjabi, Urdu, Hindi, etc)
- One singer or a group of singers accompanied by a tabla or dholak and harmonium (Sometimes the lead singer plays the harmonium).
- Supposed to be performed in Sufi shrines and temples
- Performed during a “sama’” which is a “gathering for listening”
o Audiences take this very seriously and tend to stay very quiet and listen and clap along when they aren’t in trance-states.
- Said to induce a “trance”-like state
o This trance is thought to bring the listener in touch with Allah
o The role of the musicians induce a strong reaction from the audience
o Sometimes how much they are paid depends directly on the audience reaction
o When the audience begins reacting, the musicians repeat the “trigger line” several times so as to increase the trance
o They increase the tempo to help increase the trance-state.
o During the trance-state many of the audience members/listeners give money to the high ranking Sufi officials that are running the sama’ or to the musicians themselves
- The performance is very interactive, the audience’s reactions directly influence the performance as it’s happening
- Girahs = additional verses added to the song (sometimes in a diff. language) that provide a new perspective on the meaning.

Today, I went to the beach with my kids. I found a sea shell and gave it to my 4 year old daughter and said "You can hear the ocean if you put this to your ear." She placed the shell to her ear and screamed. There was a hermit crab inside and it pinched her ear. She never wants to go back! Have you ever thought about adding a little bit more than just your articles? I mean, what you say is fundamental and everything. But imagine if you added some great visuals or video clips to give your posts more, "pop"!
