Anxiety and panic are conditions that are characterized by the extreme realease of different emotions. If you are ever in a situation that makes you stressed or scared, there is a little section in the back of your brain that is going to trigger what is known as the fight or flight response.
Basically, this response is incorrect because your brain thinks that something is happening that isn't. But being in these kinds of events is what triggers anxiety attacks so often in people these days.
A good thing though, is that anxiety is not life-threatening in any way but it can be really frightening if you are not used to it. Anxiety is a learned behavior, so wouldn't it stand to reason that it could also be unlearned?
I don't ever remember seeing people in my life anxious or stressed that I knew of, but I was just a kid...what did I know.
When people see others in their life acting in an anxious manner for years, they may start to act like them without ever knowing why. By the time a person realizes that they have developed an anxiety disorder with extreme panic attacks, it is much too late.
For me, learning how to control my anxiety and cure my panic attacks was a very long road indeed. My learned behavior had to be unlearned, and since I was feeling worse each day I had to unlearn these behaviors or suffer the consequences.
I did find help though, and cured my anxiety problems once and for all. It's nice that in this day and age we have websites that can help us to not feel so alone in this struggle between nerves and realistic thoughts.
http://www.squidoo.com/how_to_cure_anxiety was one such site that helped me a lot to find out information on anxiety and find a way out of it. By simply learning that I was not alone, I gained so much in such a little time.
This is also a time of social media running rampant, and what better way to find a way to get over my panic episodes and agoraphobia than the largest social network in the world...Facebook!
I was searching Facebook one day and found a site on anxiety at www.facebook.com/howtocureanxiety and was floored at how the information seemed to fit my life.
Regardless of where any anxiety sufferer gets their information about anxiety though, it is most important to know that they don't have to be alone and scared anymore.
I unlearned my anxious behavior, and I know that with the right tools and resources that others can stop their anxiety and panic as well.
