How To Cure Anxiety When Your Mind Is On Overdrive
For a person who has anxiety and panic attacks life can be pretty tough sometimes. Sometimes you need to learn how to cure anxiety just so you can do the simple things in life that many people take for granted.
Have you ever been out in the world trying to forget your anxiety when all of the sudden it comes out of nowhere and ruins your day? Maybe while you are at a grocery store or a mall or a concert maybe.
When anxiety and panic occur like this, the world suddenly becomes very small, or very huge depending on how you feel. The bad part is that you are now stuck in this situation you found yourself in.
Stuck in public with no way out!
The most important thing you can do when anxiety strikes you like this is to stay calm! I know, that’s easier said than done. But some simple information will help you.
Have you ever died from one of your panic attacks?
Chances are that no, you have certainly not died from any of your panic attacks. The generalized anxiety you have is a pain, but it is not going to be the death of you. Before you can learn how to cure anxiety you have to be award of what it is and what it is not.
Learning to breathe and slow down is going to really help you out a lot during these episodes of extreme panic and anxiety.
I’ve heard all of this before!
Are you practicing it though? Anything sounds good in theory and if you try it once, but only things that you do over and over will have a lasting impression on your mind.
The best thing that you can do for your anxious mind is to let it know that you are in control. By slowing your body down with some deep breaths you are sending your mind a signal that no matter what it thinks, you are in control.
You are learning how to cure anxiety simply by allowing the body to be in a natural state of relaxation, free from stress. Do you know why all of this is?
Anxiety is just our fight or flight response:
When your heart starts to beat quickly and you start to sweat during an anxiety attack, your body is doing these things for a reason.
It is preparing for a situation where you may have to literally fight for your life or flee that situation. All of the things that happen in your body are not killing you. In fact, they are actuallyl preparing you to stay alive at all costs.
By recognizing what is going on here and stopping it with some deep breaths, you are sending the opposite signal to your brain. You are saying to your body and mind that it is not appropriate to be excited right now.
This is how to cure anxiety very simply and effectively. It takes some practice but anybody can do it to alleviate most or all of the horrible symptoms that come with a generalized anxiety disorder.
