My First Trip In Years | How I Spent the Summer

The rental house we stayed inWhat have you been doing this summer? I finally took a much needed vacation for the first time in many years.  Jenny and I were thinking of going down to San Diego, but I’m so tired of people I can’t stand it, so we looked at going somewhere a bit more relaxed.

After a few days of arguing, we decided on Lake Tahoe. Neither of us had ever been there and it looked pretty nice. So we headed up there and got into our South Lake Tahoe vacation rental house that we got for the trip. Oh yea, I forgot to mention that. A hotel is so expensive, and you have to pay for food too. We priced a bunch of Lake Tahoe rental homes and figured that we would save about $150 for the weekend by staying in one and just buying groceries and cooking.

So that’s what we did. We ended up loving the trip. Staying in a hotel sucks, which I’ve done many times for my job. The place was really clean and it was ON the water, so a trip to the beach took about 34 seconds and we were swimming.

We did some gambling, but mostly just hung out and had some drinks on the beach. The other cool thing was the vibe in town. It’s a small town, but the people are not hicks or anything like that, so it’s really relaxed.

There are all kinds of things to do, but we mostly just chilled out on the water and looked at all the boats and people on the beach. Overall, it was a great vacation and we will definitely be going back.
